A day @ Zea Yoga

Finally, the Big Day for our very first Yoga Roller Workshop after weeks of hard work....

Indeed very blessed that all the skills gained during working life have put into this workshop preparation - meetings, discussions, marketing, promotion, communication, co-ordination, resource allocation, time management, follow up etc..

We utilised the social networking tools to promote our workshop and also participate in road show and The Club open day not only to reach out to more people but to open the door for us to meet new people and make new friends :-p  Dr Chen, Christyn, Jun Ren, Jonathan, Ka Ty, Sae Min....

The workshop went on smoothly except that we over run by 40 minutes :) As you can guess, all participants were 'enjoying' the rolling over the 'pain' area; we were glad that we have covered all the areas, including the stretching exercise, leg lifting, breathing and the shavasana.

Feedback from the participants:
  • Workshop is too short, should extend to 3 hours
  • Very useful workshop and I need to improve further
  • Should & neck felt so relief at the end of the workshop
  • Pain Pain Pain but feeling so good after the roller
Thank you Chris and Yong for their unconditional love, support and ideas to make this event a very successful one.

I like to take this opportunity to thank Chris's hubby for his help on the feedback form as without it, we were not able to gathered valuable information for us to improve further in the future workshops.

Of course, to you all participants, A Very Big Thank You to all of you. Without you, we were not able to run this workshop. (Gentle Reminder to continue to use the roller everyday at least an hour everyday......)
 
Lastly, my gratitude to Judy Lou Shi, as without her teaching & sharing, we were not able to share the knowledge and beautiful techniques of self healing. This was the quote from Judy Lou Shi Yoga Therapy book, you have the  ability to awakening the inner harmony of body & soul.

A day filled with Gratitude

Today is a bless day spending time with Qin Kai out in KL from morning till late afternoon....

My initial intention is very selfish - I want to get this boy out from the house so that he can stay away from his iPad! We have a deal that no iPad allow when are out from the house!!

I knew this has become a trend in most family and when you don't have other activities for your kids, there they go - glued on the iPad! Well, this is not my main topic today, we can talk about it in another article.

Both of us enjoyed the drive from Shah Alam to KL then followed by appointments after appointments -  one after another none stop! We had great time enjoying the Japanese food @ Shojikiya and followed by my favourite drinks @ Starbucks! Before we headed home, we even managed to had Qin Kai very first and own bank account registered with MBB :) Then the last stop is to have a nice & neat hair cut, all set and ready to back to school the next day!
Since we have gone out since the morning, I have guessed Qin Kai will be exhausted....out of my expectation, after his shower, he drew the 'notes of gratitude' on all the activities we have done the whole day. I were so touched and impressed! I complimented him for his job well done but (well, you saw the word 'but' and I admitted that this is a very bad habit and I wanted to get rid of this bad habit with immediately....) I wanted him to prepare another slide with our photos (the second image in this article!)....

Qin Kai very steadily shared his opinion that 'the most important thing throughout the whole day was we both have had good time and whether the notes have been produced in picture format or drawing was not they key'. Wow, this really strike me instantly!

In many occasions, we parents only focus on what we wanted and how often we did spend time to observe what our kids can produce out from their creativity and uplift them from there? This applied to almost everything (choosing the colour to paint for their bedroom, after school curriculum, courses to enrol, what to eat, who to mix with .....the list will go on.....)

Parents please remembered your kids are unique and special in their own way!  Respect them and honoured their choices; explained to them choice and consequences. Let go and be patience; your kids will feel your love and respect you to allow them to be who they are.

Before I end this article, Qin Kai told me he welcome my idea to prepare the notes in picture format together for our next outing!   ^-^

I am so proud of you Qin Kai. I love you and thank you for your presence in my life and to allow me to learn and grow together.

我与唐睿谦老师 2。

刚刚參加了唐老师3月份在吉隆坡的特殊家长及创意故事工作坊,只感叹时间太短了,老师有太多"法宝"可以分享!

Welcome back Teacher Tang, you always have lot of creative ideas and we all love you so much. I wish next time you will spend longer time in KL.

在写这一段心声分享时,也再次温习老师教的教材及我的笔记,很高兴我都有好好的运用着所学过的。

I was glad I have put in practice what I have learnt since Teacher last visit in Aug 2012. I still kept my notes handy as well as the books I bought from the workshop.

曾经有位老师这样分享过"既使只是重复的使用同一个法式就可让学生受益,那就请堅持下去." 这让我深深的感应到,一个人不必学太多,因为学而不用,等于零!对吗?

I could never forget one master commented 'even you only have learnt one technique and that was helpful, continue to share it'. Sharing is loving!!

除了老师的创意讲故事以外,按摩几乎是我最喜欢的活动⋯按摩可让学生短时间內静下来、又可以促进亲子关系(別忘了既使孩子已经上了初中,他们都很渴望被爸爸妈妈安抚的感觉。还记得我与唐老师1的分享中,我提及这套按摩也適合我们的伴侣.)

Apart from the creative story telling, yoga massage was something I will not miss. There were lot of benefits including calmed the kids as well as improved bonding. You could apply this technique to kids at all age. (I shared this before yoga massage also very therapeutic and could be used on your partner too.)

看看以下的畫,我与一名5岁小孩一同完成!这小男孩在此之前还告诉我他不会畫畫呢!我只是通过简短的呼吸、动物瑜伽游戏再按摩,小孩在很信任、有安全感的情况下,用了大约20分钟一半小时完成这美丽的mandala. 他还在右上边写上大名呢。

Please take a moment to enjoy the drawing below (master piece by a 5 years old boy and myself). This little boy told me he didn't know how to draw initially but through a short breathing, animal yoga play time then massage - I could feel the calmness and peacefulness at the end of the massage. It took  us around 20-30 minutes to complete this mandala and he also signed his name at the top right corner :)



以下的图片又是什么呢?我姪儿、姪女教我做手工。在任何时侯都别低估小孩的创意,多赞美、鼓励,你会发觉他们是好棒的。

Never underestimate the creativity of your kids, I have so much to learn from them. Always uplift them and you will be impressed with their works.

接下来,我又开始画mandala, 姪女建议用水彩,姪儿说用彩色笔。姐弟倆更提议加一些汽球及心型球在mandala 外边。最後,我引导他们加入了一些正面的句子。这就是我们的傑作。

有没有想过,通过这45分钟的画画,孩子也静了下来,我们也可趁此时加以一些价值观等等。这一切是那么的自然及不须太多的凖備及材料。
 
Mandala drawing was one of my favourite and you could do it at your own or group. I let the kids decided whether water paint or colour pencil. They even suggested more shapes outside the mandala. Before finishing the master piece, I guided them to put down some positives words.
 
You could easily enjoy the 45 minutes Quite Time as kids were so focus and concentrating in the drawing and colouring. You could also easily plant the good values and they will listen to you.
 
Practice this anytime, anywhere, you didn't need lot of tools and just go with the flow.....enjoy

Healthy Society Campaign 2013

大家好。时间过得好快。现在已进入2013年四月份了。你们做了些什么有意义的事了?

我想问问其他部落格的好友那来用不完的精力可以很快把所经历、有趣、点点滴滴与大家分享!我会加油的⋯(嘻嘻)

从三月中參于在 Parkamaya, Fahrenheite88, KL的"健康社会營"及 The Club, Bandar Utama 开放日;二个主办当局的目的是为了提升大众对健康的意识。但是民众反应可不是很熱例!⋯(这一点值得主办当局去深讨。)

对我来说,这是个好好的经验也認识了不少新朋友。我们互相交流、受益不淺。要在这提一提及谢谢Christyn在活动最後一天幫我"jump start"我的車。他是我那天的天使,如果不是他,我的Jazz小姐就得在廣㘯底层三楼过夜了!(下回把车送去检查时,別忘了电池哦!)

我也观察到,大大小小,走的、站的、甚至在谈天的,手都不离iPad, play book, iPhone, Samsumg, blackberry, Nokia 等等⋯你可知道电磁波危害很大吗?长期使用,或长期在高电磁环境,神经处干兴奋状态,慢性病也陸陸继继出现,体健亮红燈。

你知我知,为何大家还不怕?因为大家都觉得那个不幸者不会是我!哈哈。

运动没时间、养生没兴趣、保健有用吗、改变生活方式太麻烦。以下接地气再简单不过而且也没有什么费用。可以一週二、三次到户外走走吧。呼吸大自然的空气、让身体远离电磁那一下下,人也肯定清爽起来。(第223期大家健康有详文)
