When to practice? Anytime and anywhere ( if you don’t care that you will scare those around you !)
Seriously, when you feeling stressed out and feeling the tightness around the throat and chest. Practice this regularly ok.
All you need is find a comfortable seating position (not necessary to be in the tradition sitting style - that’s just a form externally! All you want is to experience the positive result!). Inhale through the nose, open your mouth wide, stick out your tongue, and stretch it down toward your chin. Exhale forcefully, at the same time rotate your eyeballs and gaze upwards, make a “ha” sound that comes from deep within your abdomen. That’s simple right.
One of the benefits I wanted to highlight this breathing exercise worked well for our fifth chakra and the thyroid it’s all about communication and expression!
