Neck Pain!!!

I am sure you have experienced neck strain, numbness,tingling, light-headed ness or gland swelling? The following asanas will ease/ relief the pain.

Cat- cow
Camel
Locust
Bow
Lion
Rabbit
Half moon
Head to knee (seated)
Forward bend hand under foot (standing)
Sitting Rhomboid stretch (on a chair)

Anyhow, prevention is the key and hope you find following checklists useful:

1. Exercise regularly to strengthen neck muscles
2. Improve posture - consciously sit up straight and tall, raise your chest, relax the shoulder
3. Use firm mattress and thin pillow
4. In order to turn around, do not twist your neck or the body; instead turn around by moving your feet first
5. Avoid the same position for periods while driving, watching TV, talking on the phone or working on computer
6. Do not lift heavy weight on neck or back
7. Avoid running and high impact aerobic
8. Manage stress level, when in pain, rest.

Kids time again...

My friends were sharing with me one day over lunch, "when you are dealing with kids, you need a lot of energy". I can relate that immediately when I was spending time with Qin Kai - 'YES, 200%"!!!

Anyhow, the more I was into the kids yoga teaching,  the more creative ideals I have from the kids not to focus only on the physical exercise; we do have activities like drawing, dancing, story telling and massaging.

Lately, I was sharing with the kids quotes from Master Chen Yuen after the practice session. Out of my expectation, kids like them and that really motivate me to read more of the quotes so that I can do more sharing with them!

Thank you kids - I LOVE YOU.

Trataka vs Midbrain 2

从开学到现在,我们几乎不是很有耐力和持续的练习。

感恩从朋友送的杜曼教学教材中游览到其中一个网站,以下点子值得家长们參考:

1 不论给孩子学任何新活动,不要强行实施
2 最大重点让孩子享受过程
3 保持平常心
4 掌握孩子规律,一定要在孩子最感兴趣的时候实行
5 成绩不是一切,品德来得更重要
6 不要错过任何可以称赞孩子的机会
7 多让孩子有时间多接触大自然,这可以平衝身心灵的成长。

有些事情真的急不来,我们真的要有很多耐心和愛心。

学员分享

I wrote this testimonial for my Yoga teacher and close friend Ericca with love.

Ericca  started to teach me Yoga from June 2011 till September 2011. In the 4 months with Ericca, what I love about Ericca is her passion in giving life and health in love to her students.  

Following this passion, Ericca teaches in earnest, in love, in softness, yet with full enthusiasm.The enthusiasm is expressed in her watchful eyes on each movements I performed and  giving encouraging recognition on every progress I made, however small.  

Ericca also demonstrates her enthusiasm through giving me powerpoints that illustrates postures she taught me. She did not give me standard illustration. The illustrations were supported with her own photographs in action. 

This  gave me the message of how committedEricca is in making sure her students learn right and learn well. in action. This  gave me the message of how committedEricca is in making sure her students learn right and learn well.

I have thoroughly enjoyed and learned well in the 4 months with Ericca. Ericca is a teacher who is well sought after by many of my friends.

Love is in the air

Today Facebook status was loaded with all the Valentine's Day greetings .....

Have you ever stop and think we only 'celebrate, feel love and express love' only during this specific day?

How Great it would be if you have this "Valentine" in you all the time, express love, show gratitude and be kind to anyone in your space and not your spouse and partner only! Have you forgotten your parents, your brothers & sisters. Maybe your friends & colleagues - irregardless they are lady or guy ^_^

I am thinking of my darling who make me understand this and I am so lucky as I am celebrating Valentine's day every moment whether we are together or not! Thank you & I love you Roy.

To you all out there, Happy Valentine's Day and I love you too.

瘦就是美?

是不是觉得自已在过年後长胖了?现在拼命的想减肥?

过年期间免不了大吃大喝,但只要现在慢慢一步一步来让肠胃"休息 ",回复苗条的身形,指日可待!

我的分享如何让肠胃休息很简单
1。开始吃七分饱 《可参考中医养生》
2。喝菜、果汁来替代晚餐
3。傍晚8时过後不再贪吃
4。开始运动—练习瑜伽,步行,游泳都很不错
5。正确的人生,作息观念
6。借助美体塑身衣

很多时候,不论我们用任何一项方案都好,重点在于"堅持到底^_^"。同意吗?

你我都知道瑜伽益处很多,你也得对这运动感兴趣才行呀!再来,你跟对了老师吗?瑜伽不只是让你有好看的身形,它对心靈生长也扮演重要的角色。

塑身衣,價格不便宜。投资之後,你有穿吗?或者只成了橱里的收藏品?

美食当前,有谁能低抗? 要如何很有智慧的去吃,吃对时,吃的均衡,吃出健康!

最重要的是你如何看待人生?正面,積極的?应该休息的时候就让身体好好的休息!

瘦不一定就是美。擁有健康及均衡的身段才是最幸福的。

我希望对以上有进一步的了解,及更勤于亲身体验。再和大家分享。

The power of Now - 活在当下

Have you experienced while talking to someone, they seems busy on their phone/ iPad? (SMS, email, Facebook or whatapos, viber, twitter etc.)how do you feel?

This is becoming so common and they are physically there but not their souls! This also becoming one of the sign 'the relationship' is in Trouble!!

Maybe this is what you are facing with your kids - they will ask you "mom, are you with me??" trust me, kids are very sensitive, they can Feel your presence.....

There are so many things we wanted to do, we have lot of thoughts running in the mind, we are busy with all the errands .....which will never end....

This come to my realization some time ago but I need to be mindful and focus to practice what I 'know'. It is the consistency that count.

This is what I am practicing now

When I play WII with Qin Kai, I enjoy the game with him
When we read books, only books around us, no other stuffs
when I am talking to my hubby, I put my phone to silence mode
When I am with my friends, I am there with them physically and mentally
When you are eating, do use this quality time to have communication
When you are driving, you focus on the road
When you are in the toilet, no books allow
When is time to go to bed, sleep and leave all the electronic items outside the room

The list can go on....try them and see what the miracles will take place

Yoga with love

Teaching yoga is my primary focus now. The more I teach, the greater joy I experienced...

This is because it is my hobby and passion I have in yoga. It brings out the love automatically and I am sure those have attended my class, can feel it ;)

A very quick sharing on one of the finding recently:-

Sinus vs body temperature

1. This happen mainly in the morning
2. After moderate of exercise, it will be gone
3. This can be very irritating but it can be healed ...
4. Always keep your body warm/ covered
(as most people sleep without their shirt especially men ;))
5. Practice joint exercise, follow by sun salutation to warm up body (promote blood circulation)
6. Practice Jalan Neti *you can perform this twice a day and you will be impressed with the result

You might find this difficult as I will have my socks and blanket every night without fail. At time, I even put on the knee and ankle protector to keep my joints warm. Once you are getting use to these, it will become a routine. I also suggest to set a timer for the air-con as you might be aware how it dehydrate your body throughout the night ^_^

I have been practicing Jala Neti with Qin Kai every evening for months now. He is very happy as that not only solved his 'sinus' problem, he enjoy spending the time with me...(he likes to observe how the water flow from my nose trail is faster or slower some of the time. For sure, it is not easy to get him to practice, thanks to my yoga friend who share a tip with me to let him do this at one nosetrial and when he is ready, he practice the complete set ;)

Ayuveda Detox 2

Time flies, I have completed the first 7 days of detox and how I feel? Very light and bright :) I can't wait to start the next 7 days of Rejuvenation. (I bet you are looking forward to read my experiences again.)

Anyhow, I am impressed with my consistency and determination to want to finish the whole program; If you asked me which is the most difficult part? I would say, to have a strong mind.....(when I share with my sister, I only take plain potridge during the 7 days, she said, she will vomit all the way - ha ha, and you basically have to relax yourself and enjoy the slow pace - which I find it very beneficiary for me. Even I have quit from corporate world, I think I have never slow down this much to really enjoy the every minute and every second.....Try it out and you will be amazed what you will get out from it!)

Surely, there are so much more to share and I always like to share my knowledge and experience with anyone who likes to know more on my health/fitness routines. Indeed, there are many ways to keep fit and stay healthy....the important is that - YOU WANT it! Otherwise, you know exercise is good, balance diet is good, detox is good - all is good, but what is lacking is the very first step you take to WANT to do it :)
